The MBA batch (2018-20) from IIM, Sirmaur, has completed a three-week international immersion programme at the SDA Bocconi School of Management, Milan, Italy. The batch comprised 98 students.
A part of IIM-Sirmaur’s vision to train all students in the best global management education and business practices, this was the second chapter of this programme. Students received key inputs about nuances of doing business in Europe, selection and entry into foreign markets and global and multi-domestic strategies for successful international business operations to craft and lead premium global business brands.
The participants were exposed to a range of dominant themes through sessions on “Globalisation of pocket multinationals and foreign market entry,” “International finance”, “Service management”, “Service operations management”, “Service industrialisation”, and “Managing capacity and demand in international markets”.
Besides academic discussion, assignments, cases, simulations and regular evaluations, they visited Ferrari campus and museum at Maranello and wine-making firms in Franciacorta and Amazon logistics centre in Piacenza which offered an insider view of the working of global brands and operational excellence. The academic, corporate and cultural experience helped students develop the right perspective and motivation toward emerging as business leaders of future.
